As he stands by the small wooden bridge,
he finds himself alone in the rain,
he doesn't mind the rain,
in fact he inhales deeply filling his lungs, the air that he breathes,
as he starts quoting some of his best poetry.
he feels happy with his world, there again why shouldn't he.
The drizzling rain makes him happy, as he calls the beautiful rain,
as the cold the wind all so inviting.
He stands looking around, his surroundings, where he's destination should be,
he walks through a rocky slope,
on the far horizon he spies the city,
with strings of lights like pearls scintillating in the distance.
Far bellow the cattle carts passing the man singing
while the cattle bells ringing as he goes about singing his heart out..
he slowly walks to those prehistoric caves,
abandoned over the years over the millennium.
it retains that scent of a forgotten history,
as he shines his torch over, the cave walls,
he goes closer and observes the paintings
from a long forgotten people, that time forgot.
Except they left their own footprint
in their paintings and sculptures,
they will be remembered forever, better than most
As his eyes travel he spots a woman in a neckless the colour of Jade
sitting there, beside a table lamp.Such an awesome painting,
as she sits beside him she whispers, it's wonderful to see you,
you've been away so long that I've forgotten,
what it felt like to look at you,
my heart feels full with, the image of you,
it hurts, it hurts my darling when I don't see you,
but he's sitting there in shadow blurred, by the dim light that's obscuring his face,
as if he should not be there.
as he turns to go, he turns back,
as if he's forgotten something, something.
Then he looks at her as if he hasn't seen her before,
that intimate look, as if he was ingraining her on his mind,
how beautiful she was, as she was sitting there.
he's heart constricts in a pain he's never known before
as he was mentally saying goodbye to the woman with the dark sparkling eyes.
But she knew, she knew that he walked out of her life.
A sad smile left in her eyes, as she bends her head and cries......
